Myanmar 32 years old composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ito (Win Htut Thawdar) has been an active member of Myanmar’s musical scene for the past 18 years.

From his first rock album “Min Shi Yar”, released in 2005 and his participation to the Myanmar underground progressive metal scene, Myanmar Guitar Instrumental Show, MEMORY! Film festival and to his collaboration with US jazz guitarist David Mooney, Ito’s musical universe crosses cultural and musical boundaries, navigating between jazz, rock, folk, experimental and electronic music. For years, ito has been playing with Gita Youn Sone (G.Y.S), a musical collective formed by Ito himself. Just recently, his music voygage has spanned from being an active member of Noise in Yangon (Myanmar’s first experimental/noise musicians collective) with his artist name Cgauss to becoming the head of Myanmar Jazz Club (MJC) where he weekly hosts Jazz and Blues jams with local musicians and hosts International Jazz Festivals and Jazz Gigs.

He is also co-leading the independent music and record label platform Inappropriate thoughts to promote emerging alternative sounds in Myanmar. Currently, he is determined on working on his solo projects which reflects his signature musical style sculpted from different genres and influences of his musicianship. He has also started running a non-profit studio space called It’z studio to give support to musicians by providing rehearsals, recordings, education and exchange space.
